The Big Walnut Baseball Association is a volunteer driven, non-profit organization serving the local Big Walnut community. Our goal is to provide opportunities for young players to grow their skills and their knowledge of the great game of baseball. While not directly affiliated with the Big Walnut Local Schools programs, we work closely with Head Coach Jack Schone and the Eagles coaching staff to grow young players for participation at the local schools level.
The BWBA provides leagues by grade level:
~ T-Ball - currently Kindergarten age or going into Kindergarten (Pre-K)
~ Machine Pitch - 1st and 2nd grades
~ Minors - 3rd and 4th grades (youth player pitch)
~ Majors - 5th and 6th grades (youth player pitch)
While exceptions can be made that allow players to play at higher levels, the BWBA's preference is for players to play at their grade level with their peers. Players from surrounding areas are welcome - they do not need to be Big Walnut Residents.
BWBA also provides opportunities increased play and competition through 8U - 18U Travel Baseball programs. Tryouts for travel ball generally occur in August or September of the prior year.
The BWBA Spring season runs from mid-April to the end of July. Ten to fifteen games are generally played each season culminating in a league tournament.
BWBA's four-field facilty is located behind Big Walnut Elementary School. The Majors and Minors fields are lit for night-time play with full 250 ft and 200 ft fences respectively. Use of the local concession stand is encouraged as proceeds go to the BWBA program.
BWBA program sponsorship opportunities are available at several levels. Sponsors enjoy benefits including fence signage and web-site advertising.
